Vibrocoustics

This course deals with the theoretical fundamentals of sound generation, sound radiation and sound field measurement for acoustic problems. The lecture deals with the fundamentals of vibroacoustics, airborne sound radiation from spherical and piston radiators, bending vibrations and sound radiation from rectangular plates, damping of structure-borne sound, sound propagation outdoors and indoors and vibroacoustic measurement technology. The course is supplemented by a practical course on the investigation of a piston radiator, measurement of the sound power of a vibrating structure with a calibrated intensity probe and practical application of various methods of active and passive noise reduction.
