Research
The research profile of the Chair of Adaptronics is characterised by the following three complexes:
Adaptive structural systems
- Expansion of the conventional objectives of functionality and performance through current and future requirements such as resource conservation, energy efficiency, emission reduction
- Design principles for adaptive structural systems from a holistic, interdisciplinary perspective
- New design and optimisation methods for the overall adaptronic system consisting of structure, sensors, actuators and control systems
- Control technology for adaptronics (adaptive, real-time capable, robust)
Multi-functional material systems
- Use of active and sensory materials such as piezoceramics and shape memory alloys
- Structural integration of actuator and sensor systems, especially in fibre composites
Vibroacoustics
- Investigations into the generation, transmission and radiation of structure-borne and airborne sound
- Development of measures to minimise the sound radiation of vibrating structural systems with adaptronics
- Development of vibroacoustic sensor systems for a structure-compliant realisation
